Erling Haaland has been in astonishing form since signing with the German club this season with a phenomenal record of 39 goals, 12 assists in 40 appearances throughout all competitions.
The 20-year old Norwegian phenom has caught the eye of some of the biggest football clubs around the world, including the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid. All of which are hoping to acquire the player's signature in the transfer window this summer. Despite the Norway International signing a contract with his current club Borussia Dortmund that will keep him until 2024, we might be able to see him leave as his £68million release clause will become active.
The 6.4" Haaland started his football journey in the academy of his hometown club, Bryne FK at the age of only five years old. His former youth coach, Alf Ingve Bernsten talked about his early talent by mentioning in an interview that the five-year-old Haaland contributed to his team scoring goals with his first two touches. During the 2015/16 season, Haaland played for Bryne's reserve team and scored eighteen goals in fourteen matches. With his impressive form, Haaland was handed his first start, three months before turning sixteen.
The following season, Molde announced the signing of sixteen-year-old Erling Haaland. During his spell at Molde, he continued to show his great talent and was compared to Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku by his former manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer. After the 2018 season, he finished as Molde's top goalscorer, scoring 16 goals in 30 matches across all competitions. On the 19th of August 2018, Redbull Salzburg announced that Haaland would join the club on the 1st of January 2019, signing a five-year contract.
Haaland scored his first hat-trick for the club in a 7-1 Austrian Cup win against SC-ESV Parndorf and followed with another in the Austrian Bundesliga in a 5-2 victory against Wolfsberger AC. With just six league games under his belt, Haaland has produced an incredible 11 goals in total. After his one season at the club, he concluded his 2019/20 season campaign with 29 goals in just 22 appearances before moving on to Borussia Dortmund in the following season.
